It’s an early start with an ambitious journey by train from Dresden to Newcastle via Frankfurt, Brussels and London ahead of me.

I get to Dresden station before six in the morning, local time.

Colour in the sky as we pass through Leipzig.

It is a bit misty.

Change at Frankfurt with a close to two hour wait after arriving slightly late.

Trains heading to different countries.

On through green German countryside.

Arrived in plenty of time to get through the border checks. The Eurostar train before my train is delayed but thankfully my train leaves on time.

The weather has changed, it’s now raining as we leave Brussels.

Approaching the Channel Tunnel near Calais. The sun has gone down.
Across Kent to London. A quick walk from St Pancras to Kings Cross and on to the LNER train.

The LNER train is fine apart from the bins being totally full and a dodgy smell in the toilet.

Arrive at 2220 in Newcastle.

I negotiate the stationary traffic on my bicycle to get to the hotel. A traffic jam at that time of night seems a bit ridiculous.
A long journey arriving with no problems and on time.
Germany, Belgium, France and England.
